RMH6000 ROPA Pumps
MPBC's ROPA pumps are high power lasers that provide pump power for a Remote Optically Pumped Amplifier (ROPA).
All of MPBC's ROPA pumps are equipped with OSC coupling optics to seamlessly incorporate the FIM module for Hazard Level 1M operation.
With built-in redundancy and soft failure protection, MPBC ROPA Pumps provide the ultimate in terms of performance and reliability for ultra-long spans where in line amplifications is not practical or not desirable.
Cascaded ROPA Pumps (CRP)
MPBC's patented 3rd Order Cascaded ROPA pumping scheme is an enhanced technique used for providing improved ROPA pump delivery by pumping the signal fiber with a shorter wavelength than the desired ROPA pump wavelength, and then using the transmission fiber media as a wavelength converter that uses the Raman effect to generate the ultimate ROPA pumping wavelength.
MPBC's Cascaded ROPA pumping scheme allows for the longest repeaterless spans. It also provides up to 2.5 dB more pump power delivered to the ROPA when compared to a direct pump.
The Cascaded ROPA pumping scheme also provides a broader and flatter gain than direct delivery ROPA pumps. Cascaded ROPA pumps are available with output power powers to 6.5 watts, depending upon the transmission fiber type and the placement of the ROPA.

The Conventional ROPA pumps are high power 1st order fiber laser sources used to pump Remote Optically Pumped Amplifiers (ROPA).
Conventional ROPA pumps are available with output power powers to 2 watts.
