MiniShaker Underwater
The MiniShaker Underwater module is an integrated, watertight multi-camera system ideal for time-resolved volumetric PTV (Shake-the-Box) and Tomographic PIV measurements in underwater applications. High-density particle tracks, velocity fields, acceleration data and pressure fields with Pressure from PIV can be obtained. The compact system enables quick installation and easy operation in towing tank environments or other applications in water. A fixed working distance and maintenance-free optics do not require any action from the user before a measurement is started. Rotatable, rigid joints allow flexible viewing directions of the camera module.
Data transfer and power supply are both provided by the USB 3.0 interface, which avoids complicated cabling.
The camera system is used in combination with the Underwater Volume Illumination Unit and a single-cavity high-speed laser. A volume of the same size as the visible camera field of view is illuminated for a total depth of field of 150 mm. The beam delivery between laser and optics under water is applied via an optical fiber, making the whole setup operationally safe and easy to set up.
Both involved system components are highly flexible in their orientations, very rigid and usable at minimum setup effort for the user. Highest quality stainless steel housings and delivery tubes allow the usage in harshest environments.
The main applications for the MiniShaker Underwater are time-resolved experiments in liquids (flow channels, towing tanks etc.) with flow velocities up to 5 m/s.

Requirements

camera, in DaVis 8.4 as a high-speed camera, different optional
